does anyone know if Raven still makes the IM6 11foot 3piece float rod anymore? and does anyone have any experience with the Frontier MX 13foot 2piece rod? just wondering what would be the better choice for small to medium rivers, Raven IM6 or Frontier MX rods?

The Frontier is an IM7 blank so it would have a tad more backbone but not much more than the
Raven IM6. You should be fine with the IM6. Also, you might not be aware that Gloomis is dropping
the Frontier line and as of this month they will not be honouring their lifetime warranty. I was told
this by a Gloomis rep at the sportsman show. I picked up a 13' 3pc MX ( great deal) anyway and
fished the hell out of it for 2 months and had no problems (nice rod). I also have a 14' 3pc Raven IM8 and
and love that rod. All things considered , if I were you I'd go with the Raven in a longer rod.

Thanks verminator, do you know why Gloomis is discontinuing their Frontier rod line?

Gloomis was bought out by Shimano a while back and I guess one of the changes is they're not building any rods in Canada anymore. The Frontier line was put together here from what I understand.

Raven makes 11' 2 pcs rod - Specialist IM6 and 11'6" IM6 Steelheader. Very good rods.
